Filipino American History and Health October 5, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Consortium Library, Room 307, 3211 Providence Drive Brown bag presentation with the Alaskero Partnership Organizers (APO), a group of Filipino American faculty members and researchers.
Dr. Connie Mariano, author of White House Doctor: My Patients were Presidents October 14, 2011 Coffee and tea: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the UAA Bookstore Talk and author reception: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at UAA ARTS 150 Dr. Mariano is the first military woman to become the White House Physician to the President, the first woman Director of the White House Medical Unit, and the first Filipino American in US history to become a Navy Rear Admiral. ASL interpreter will be provided for this speaker.
